About Nolan McFadden

Nolan McFadden has been playing guitar for 30+ years and singing for all of his life, performing both solo and in various bands in New York City, Colorado, Thailand, India, and Europe, in a variety of styles ranging from rock to jazz, reggae to hip hop, funk to folk, bluegrass to Latin! He has taught music lessons both in the USA and abroad, teaching guitar and vocals in Delhi, India for One World College Of Music, as well as volunteering with the Music Basti program for musically enhancing the lives of underprivileged children. Nolan loves sharing music education with both kids and adults alike, and encourages creative fun through improvisation, songwriting, and a well-rounded understanding of musical basics. Now Director of MusiQwest in the Coachella Valley of Southern California, he is a two-time winner of the Advanced Mandolin Competition in the Topanga Banjo & Fiddle Contest, and also performs regularly for elderly people in assisted-living organizations all across SoCal, where he enjoys connecting with the local communities in which he performs. "Sharing in the fun and spirit of music is what IT's all about!"

Hear From The Students

"Hey World. Listen up please. NOLAN.IS.WONDERFUL! I stumbled across MusiQwest as I was searching for ukulele lessons for my 5yo and 3yo daughters. And boy did we luck out. Ukulele lessons have turned into general music appreciation and understanding, and my kids have a total blast learning from Nolan. He is kind, (VERY) patient and super talented. He gets excited with the kids as they learn and allows them to feel like they are in control of the lesson (while he is truly guiding it). I feel so fortunate to have Nolan introducing music to our girls. I trust with his gentle and sincere approach, they will love music forever."
- Megan H.

"Nolan, who combines education with humor and fun, has been a great teacher for my 15-year-old son. Knowledgeable, experienced, and dynamic, Nolan has helped him learn guitar-playing basics in a relatively short period of time. He is always pleasant, communicative, patient, and punctual. Nolan rocks!"
- Hilary C.

"The Best Guitar and Bass Teacher in the Desert! My daughter gave up music lessons so many times, we gave up too. But because I am a Piano player, I gave it one more shot and the game changer was Nolan! She agreed to try 2 lessons. Well, he was pure magic. He connected to her on her level and she is now totally into it. I cannot say enough about this gifted teacher and musician. He is perfect for a first timer because he keeps it simple and fun and so the child goes home feeling great and wanting to come back. Music should be fun and trust me, this guy is awesome with kids and teens. The first experience is crucial and when you try Nolan, you guarantee that the first experience is going to be great for your child."
- Doug G.

"After some 40 years off of music, I needed an 'in the biz' professional to help me with my re-invented vocal and piano aspirations. Nolan zeroed right in on my issues, and very quickly I progressed back to my good vocal line and solid high 'G' with his exercises. I credit Nolan with my being able to recreate what I once had, like it, and be proud of it! So much of it was just being re-educated back to the basics I once knew. But even more importantly, his sincere encouragement worked to restore my confidence to perform. KUDOS Nolan! I am believer in my music once again."
- Gino D.

"Nolan is the man, I am 67 years old and I think I have had ten bass guitar teachers over the last ten years and all of them gave up on me LOL! Not Nolan, he has taken me to a level where I could play in a band, always on time and very patient... Five stars and five thumbs up!"
- Steve T.

"Nolan has been a tremendous help with my songwriting. He is incredibly knowledgeable about musicality, constructing songs, and overall a patient and articulate teacher. It has been a worthwhile investment!"
- Rita O.
